Potassium carbonate is often used in the production of glass, soap, and fertilizers. It is also used as an electrolyte in alkaline batteries and as a buffering agent in the pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, it is a common source of potassium ions in laboratory applications. Potassium carbonate has a variety of other uses as well, including in the production of fireworks, cleaning agents, and food additives.
