Product Parameters & Introduction
Urea is widely utilized in professional analysis for elements such as antimony and tin. It serves a critical role in the determination of lead, calcium, copper, gallium, phosphorus, iodide, and nitrate. Additionally, it is essential for blood urea nitrogen analysis with standard solutions and serum bilirubin determination. It is applied in the separation of hydrocarbons and the decomposition of nitric oxide and nitrous acid in analytical chemistry.
Characterized by an ammonia odor and a salty taste, Urea undergoes decomposition into biuret, ammonia, and cyanic acid when heated beyond its melting point. It exhibits high solubility: 1g dissolves in 1mL of water. It is also soluble in ethanol, methanol, and glycerol, as well as concentrated hydrochloric acid, while remaining nearly insoluble in ether and chloroform. The 10% aqueous solution maintains a pH of 7.23.
